Did you know you can practice mindfulness while dancing? How is that for a New Year's resolution?
Whittington Park Community Centre is inviting you to 10 FREE weekly Mindfulness Dance sessions to help you kickstart 2025 with a healthier body and mind.
Starting on the 10th of January we will gather every Friday from 6pm to 8pm to take care of our wellbeing in a fun and relaxing way. Every session will begin with a gentle somatic warm up followed by simple movement exercises designed to release muscle tension, encourage self expression freeing our bodies and minds from habitual patterns and induce a state of freedom and ease.
After closing the session with brief mediation all dancers are welcome to stick around for tea and chats!
No experience needed, all welcome!
Wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water with you;
No shoes and no judgement on the dance floor;
The dance floor is a chat free zone to facilitate going within.
The Mindfulness Dance sessions will be guided by facilitator Andreea Mona who is a performer and coach, with over 15 years experience of performative and therapeutic movement practice. See you on the dance floor!
