Community Film Club - Showing Local Film 'Drawn Out'

Join us for Community Film Club, a new monthly event at Whittington Park Community Centre. Our first showing will be of local film, Drawn Out on 18th October at 7PM.

This project was run in collaboration with Arsenal in the Community, Ambitious Academy, and Fully Focused, with extra funding from Islington Giving and Elthorne Pride, and we're proud to say that many of our Youth Club members were involved in its making.

Drawn Out is a hard-hitting drama that explores how young people on an inner-city estate get drawn into trouble with life-changing consequences. The film was born from the real-life experiences of 15 young people from an estate in north London. It is a very raw film at times but it is intended to reach those who are in harsh situations, to make them think, reflect and be aware of the consequences of their actions. Due to this, we recommend that viewers at aged 16 +.

THE PROCESS

Over 10 months, workshops were held in the heart of the estate. Working alongside a small professional crew; the concept, script and themes were led entirely by the young team, who were involved both behind the scenes and on set.

THE NIGHT

Join us to watch this incredible film followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew. Many of them are members of Whittington Park Community Centre's Youth Club, which meets weekly.
