Visit the British Museum on 9th October
Community preview of Hieroglyphs: unlocking ancient Egypt exhibition.
For centuries, life in ancient Egypt was a mystery. We could only glimpse into this hidden world, until the discovery of the Rosetta Stone provided the key to decoding hieroglyphs, allowing us to read this ancient script. This breakthrough expanded our understanding of human history by some 3,000 years. We are meeting after 1.15pm at the exhibition entrance.
Day outing to Kew on Friday 14th October
Meeting 10am at Whittington Community Centre, Yerbury Road, walking together to Upper Holloway station to leave at 10.30 (changing at Gospel Oak). We will arrive around 11.30 at Victoria Gate and have lunch at the Café or bring packed lunch. Please let us know if you need a mobility scooter, as this needs to be booked well in advance. We plan to return after 3pm to be back at around 4pm!
